Itenerary

Day 1 - Borjomi - Bakuriani

After breakfast, we will drive to the resort of Borjomi in southern Georgia. Borjomi is known for its natural volcanic mineral water "Borjomi", which we will taste upon arrival in Borjomi. Borjomi has one of the largest forest parks, where you can ride horses or have a quadro tour. After Borjomi, we will drive to Bakuriani ski resort, where you can rent a snowboard or enjoy outdoor activities. There’ll be plenty of free time to taste the famous mineral waters, eat, and go shopping. Overnight in Bakuriani

Day 2 - Rabati - Vardzia - Khertvisi

After breakfast, we will leave for Akhaltsikhe, where you will visit the fortress of Rabat. Rabati Castle is a medieval structure in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia, which dates back to the 13th century. The castle complex covers a mosque, a minaret, a synagogue, a Christian church, a palace, a citadel, landscaped gardens, vineyards on terraces, outdoor pools with fountains, a history museum, a hotel, a restaurant, souvenir, and wine shops. After visiting Rabat, we take the path to the cave city Vardzia (12th century). There once were about 3,000 caves and 50,000 people lived there. You will visit the church carved into the rock with the old frescoes of the 12th century. We will see Vanis Kvabebi, which was a monastery in the 7th century. The monastery complex provides spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. You will also visit the Khertvisi fortress (10th century) - located on a high rocky outcrop fortress overlooking the village of Khertvisi at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Paravani Rivers. In the evening, we will return to the hotel in Bakuriani.

Day 3 - Gori - Uplistikhe - Kazbegi (masterclass of khinkali)

After breakfast, we will visit Gori and Uplistsikhe. In Gori, we will explore the Joseph Stalin museum featuring the original house where he was born and his private armored train carriage. We will continue to Uplistsikhe (“Fortress of God”). Uplistsikhe is located on the left bank of Mtkvari River and is notable for its unique combination of various styles of rock-cut cultures and the co-existence of pagan and Christian architecture. Overnight in Kazbegi.

Day 4 - Gergeti Trinity church – Gudauri

Kazbegi – a district in northeastern Georgia known for its mountains, rivers and cultural monuments. We will explore Gergeti Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri and under Mount Kazbegi at an elevation of 2170 meters. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century. You will get an epic panoramic view of the whole valley from the church. Due to the church’s isolation in the steep mountainous area full of nature, it remains the most iconic tourist attraction in Georgia. You will be impressed with the view of Mount Kazbegi, which is 5047 m in height. Then we will go to the Gudauri ski resort, where you can try a professional ski track and enjoy breathtaking views of snowy mountains. Day 5 - Ananuri fortress - Mtskheta

After breakfast, We will head to Tbilisi. On the way you will visit Ananuri fortress - a castle and seat of the eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty that ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. Then we leave for the ancient capital – Mtskheta, and see its historical sites: Jvari monastery (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11th century). Both are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
